*) In the 19th Century the group was important and rich, because many Lutherans from Lower Silesia come here: engineers, doctors, etc. (It was a time of rapid growth of Upper Silesia.) But there were mainly Germans, so when Chorzów become a part of Poland (first in 1922, next in 1945, when many Germans were exiled), the Lutherans become less important and influential.
