My self-portrait in the door of the Theatre of Entertainment. (I was trying to capture two glass doors with reflections for the march Theme Day, but I was only partially satisfied.)
*** Rules are strict -- so I must post a photo from Chorzów, but I want to show You two other photos -- both from Katowice, where I was yesterday (I was listening to the concert of modern music).
Above: the pianist (Iwona Mironiuk) is looking for the composer -- Tadeusz Wielecki.
Does this look funny for You? For me: yes. But I know this place -- on the photo are windows from the Hospital for Children in Chorzów. So, it is no place for fun, but for illness and pain...
Above: part of the artistic ceramic "Horn" (Róg) by Krzysztof Rozpondek from the Art Galery "MM" in Chorzów. Below: the view on the exhibiton "Odd, even" by Krzysztof Rozpondek in this galery.
Today I found in the pond (under the ice...) two small Marzannas -- it is a relict of a pagan ritual -- in the first day of spring children are 'drowning Marzanna', as a symbolical bury of the winter. In fact, nobody believes in this Slavic goddess, but it is a kind of traditional fest for children.
A screw. And below my hand to compare size. I think, You know bigger, but this is (probably) one of the sixteen (2 bridges x 2x2 sides x 2 screws) biggest in my district.
The photos are from my archive (but today the weather is simmilar -- it is also snowing...). There is one big difference, but I don't know how noticeable it is. (For more photos of the sky look at SkyWatch Friday.)
Today I was completely surprised seeing this Mandarin Duck (in the Park of the Roses). In my atlas of birds is a short information: can be sporadically found in Poland.
The stained-glass window in St. Francis of Assisi Church. The only one stained-glass window in this church. The window is in fact a proposition or an advertisement of stained-glass producer (from Chorzów). Friars (owners of the church) want to change all windows into stained-glass, but they have not enough money yet.
On Sunday I've seen many such blue things around the Silesian Stadium, and almost in whole Silesian Culture and Recreation Park. I wonder, what it is. And, yes, now I know! -- Blue cloaks of Ruch Chorzów fans used for local derby (soccer match Ruch Chorzów - Górnik Zabrze, 0:1; 40 000 fans, 13 of them were arrested...). PS. The local derby was a reason for TV to come to Chorzów.
