Chorzów is almost 500 km from the nearest sea, but we have an anchor. The anchor is the relict of the real ship used in Gdańsk Bay. Now the anchor is situated in the Silesian Culture and Recreation Park, near the pond, where very small ship are still used for tourists (but not in winter).

  1. Wonder how this anchor founds it way to the pond. Interesting.

  2. It was planned in 1960s to use this ship in the pond. But the ship was to big... So, a new ship (very small) was build, and the anchor from the old ship was used to 'decorate' the Park.
